Rules for using Spotr

These Terms govern your use of the Spotr mobile application and related websites (including spotr-discover.web.app). By creating an account or using Spotr, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Spotr lets people discover, share, and plan visits to places. Features may change as we improve the product. We may suspend or discontinue parts of the service with reasonable notice when practical.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure.
You are responsible for activity under your account.
You must meet the minimum age required in your country (at least 13).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of content you post (photos, text, spot details, comments, plan messages).
You grant Spotr a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate and promote the service.
You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe others’ rights.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Post illegal, harmful, hateful, pornographic, or harassing content.
Misrepresent locations, scams, or dangerous advice as safe spots.
Spam, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt Spotr’s systems.
Impersonate others or violate privacy.
Use Spotr to violate property access laws or put people at risk.

We may remove content, limit features, or ban accounts when we believe these rules were broken. Use in-app reporting tools when you see abuse.

5. Plans & real-world meetups

Plans are coordination tools between users. Spotr is not a party to offline meetups and is not responsible for other users’ conduct in the real world. Meet only people you trust and follow local laws.

6. Maps & third-party services

Maps, place search, hosting, authentication, and push delivery rely on third-party providers (including Google/Firebase and Expo). Their outages or limits may affect Spotr.

7. Disclaimers

Spotr is provided “as is.” Spot information may be incomplete or outdated. We do not guarantee the safety, accessibility, or legality of visiting any place shown in the app. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spotr and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Spotr will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (if any) or (b) USD $50.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may terminate or suspend access if you violate these Terms or if we shut down the service.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
