Data deletion
Delete your Spotr data
This page explains how to delete your Spotr account and associated personal data. It is provided for users and for app-store account-deletion requirements.
1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open Spotr and sign in.
- Go to Me → Settings.
- Choose Delete account, confirm, and re-enter your password if asked.
Spotr then deletes your Firebase Auth account and removes associated data from our primary databases and storage, including:
- Your profile
- Spots you authored (and their photos/comments)
- Your comments, likes, saves, and collections
- Plans you hosted (and related memberships/messages)
- Your memberships/requests on other people’s plans
- Explorer visits, XP claims, and badges tied to your account
- Notifications addressed to you and your push token
- Avatar/cover photos and spot media under your account
Settings also offers Delete my data, which clears most of the above while keeping your login so you can keep using Spotr with an empty account.
2. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email care@thepockt.com from the address on your Spotr account with the subject “Delete my Spotr account”. Include your username (if known), the registration email, and confirmation that you want permanent deletion. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
3. What may remain
- Abuse/report records may be retained for safety and policy enforcement
- Public explorer feed events that already referenced your user ID may remain until they naturally age out of the feed
- Infrastructure backups roll forward on a normal schedule, after which deleted data is purged
- Information we must keep for legal compliance, if applicable
